The Department of Parks and Recreation was awarded a grant from the National Recreation and Park Association to implement Walk with Ease (WWE). WWE is a FREE six-week exercise program developed by the Arthritis Foundation that aims to reduce the pain of arthritis and improve overall health for Prince George’s County residents.
Walk with Ease classes are an hour long, and these classes are offered three times a week, for six weeks. Each class consists of a combination of health education as well as warm up/cool down and walking. Classes are taught by Arthritis Foundation-certified leaders, and are open to all county residents.
Whether you seek relief from arthritis or desire a more active life, we invite you to experience the many benefits of this program:
Reduction of pain and discomfort caused by arthritis
Increased balance and strength
An increased confidence in your ability to be physically active
The Department of Parks and Recreation encourages and supports the participation of individuals with disabilities. Register at least a minimum of two weeks in advance of the program start date to request and receive a disability accommodation.
